“There is no power for change greater than a community discovering what it cares about.”
- Margaret J. Wheatley
From comprehensive plans to vision and action plans, we combine human-centered processes with expertise to help your community have vital conversations, learn about important trends, and validate the way forward, together.
Before COVID, we lead a year-long process to develop a regional vision and action plan for eight towns in the Katahdin Region of Maine. Out of this process came The Katahdin Gazetteer – a beautiful book full of hope for the future, grounded in the care and thoughtfulness of the community today.
Our work included: project management, design research, outreach, marketing, facilitation, graphic design, architectural renderings, cartography, writing, and editing.
For the last two years during the pandemic, we designed a multi-day virtual event bringing together climate justice leaders from across the country to play a custom game. Through gameplay, participants develop a narrative timeline of events that get us to a clean, green, and just future in 2200. These timelines gave rise to Grist’s new Climate-Fiction (Cli-Fi) series that launched in 2021 to embody the imaginative work we need to do to create climate justice solutions.
